Land of the Lions

ZSL London Zoo has opened its biggest and most breath-taking experience yet: Land of the Lions

Enter the crumbling ruin of an amphitheatre-style Lion Temple and see the majestic big cats roaming just metres away, separated only by fine wires.

Transporting visitors from the heart of London to the vibrant setting of Sasan Gir, the exhibit immerses visitors in the sounds, sights and native wildlife of India, while highlighting the importance of conserving these beautiful and endangered animals.

Land of the Lions also supports a global breeding effort, helping to secure the future of the species by working with Zoos all over the world to ensure the existence of a healthy population continues.

For those who want to experience a taste of conservation in action, Land of the Lions sees visitors become part of an interactive adventure as they help ZSL’s forest rangers deal with a ‘lion-emergency’ in the Gir Forest, and lend a hand to the veterinary team who come to the rescue.

With 2,500sqm of breath-taking space, including an overhead walkway, re-creations of Sasan Gir train station, a crumbling temple, Indian high street and so much more, Land of the Lions will inform, inspire and excite wildlife lovers of all ages and promises to be an experience unlike any other - the must-visit attraction of 2016!

  • Parking

    9 May 2016

It was a lovely, sunny day. As a Zoo itself was nice, but busy on a Sunday but that was expected. Although with two young children who they wanted to see a lot of animals it didn't happen! No sight of animals maybe one gorilla, sight of a lion otherwise just only bouncy castle and ice lolly they enjoyed. For those things it was a pricy. AND parking it is just ridiculous , no place to park at all! We had to walk 2 miles with a buggy! Next visit I think it will be in 10 years! We came all the way up from Bristol, but the Zoo in Bristol I would recommend to anyone and anytime, London zoo in the other hand....

  • Very Nice zoo

    6 May 2016

We spent a very nice day with our kids 5 & 7 Sterne the Park. Not so Mann animals as expected but nicely presented. Unfortunately we were a bit late at a show "animals in action" that takes place only once a day. The show was so nice that kids asked many questions. It would be nice to see that show once more during the day. Good is good and pricing is reasonable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you live nearby, buy an annual membership- you will save money and can come every day. Thanks
